Owen Farrell, Justin Melck and James Short are the latest players to commit their futures to Saracens.

England Under-20s fly-half Farrell has been a revelation at Saracens this season, making the No.10 shirt his own despite starting the season on loan at Bedford.

"I have been given fantastic opportunities this season, and I have enjoyed the new responsibility."

And Farrell said: "I have been given fantastic opportunities this season, and I have enjoyed the new responsibility.

"I'm still young and have a great deal to learn, and I am very happy to commit my future to a club that matches my ambition.

"When I think about what this group can achieve together... well, it's really exciting and special."

South African forward Melck has become the mainstay of the pack since initially joining on trial in 2008.

And the 28-year-old, who has previously played for the Stormers and Munster, said: "The philosophy at Saracens is simple - get talented people together, treat them unbelievably and they will work unbelievably hard in return.

"This approach is unusual, special and refreshing in professional sport - it is the complete antithesis of the 'treat them mean to keep them keen' mentality, and it explains why I have signed again."

Winger Short has been Saracens' leading try-scorer this season, with the 21-year-old scoring nine times.

And Short has praised the club for helping him graduate from the academy into the senior set-up.

"I am delighted to have extended my contract with a club so eager to trust young players," he said.

"At Saracens today, the academy is completely integrated into the senior squad, which creates a special environment for development.

"Add to that everything the club does to help players off the field, and it should be easy to see why it took me a matter of seconds to decide Saracens is where I want to be."
