Northampton fly-half opts to make cross-Channel switch

England fly-half Shane Geraghty has agreed a deal to join Top 14 outfit Brive. Geraghty's departure from Northampton was not unexpected after he was forced to play second fiddle to Stephen Myler this season, while the Saints moved to recruit Ryan Lamb for next year. However he has now opted to cross the Channel in a bid to revive his career - with the 24-year-old, who joined Saints two seasons ago from London Irish, set to team up with former England centre Jamie Noon at the club. Geraghty, who was part of the Northampton squad that lost to Leinster in the Heineken Cup final on Saturday, wrote on Twitter: "What a 24 hours it has been. "Thanks for all the support, not just yesterday but for the past two years. It's been emotional and somewhat of a rollercoaster ride. Au revoir!" Geraghty is one of a number of new players recruited by Brive as they look to improve on last season's 12th-placed finish. Jacques Boussuge (Bath), Irakli Natriashvili ( Saint-Junine), Yann Fior, Arnaud Mignardi, Alexandre Barozzi (all Biarritz), Tasi Luafutu (Reds) and Virgile Lacombe (Toulouse) have also agreed deals to move to the Stade Amedee-Domenech.
