Kieswetter: Has revealed tear in quad muscle
Craig Kieswetter has stated that he will miss the England Lions' four-day match with Sri Lanka next week due to a quad injury.
The squad for the contest in Derby is due to be announced on Wednesday but Kieswetter will not be among the names selected.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was absent from day one of Somerset's LV= County Championship clash with Durham on Tuesday and later revealed his injury.
He wrote on Twitter: "Grade 2 tear in my quad. Out of action for a bit. Missing Lions game against Sri Lanka!"
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form so far this season, smashing an unbeaten century in his side's Clydesdale Bank 40 victory against Gloucestershire on Sunday.
The innings raised further expectations that he would add to his 12 one-day international caps for England this summer, but it would now seem his international ambitions have been handed a temporary setback.
