Wasps have given Tim Payne the green light to resume playing, however Wales No.8 Andy Powell remains suspended.

Payne and Powell were both banned by the club following an incident with football fans at The Walkabout bar in Shepherd's Bush on Monday.

Powell, who joined Wasps from Cardiff Blues in the summer, claimed he was knocked out and needed 10 stitches after he was "kicked and punched by around 10 people" and hit with a bar stool.

However, following an internal investigation England prop Payne has had his suspension lifted by the club.

Powell, though, will remain ineligible to play as Wasps continue to investigate the matter.

A statement from the club read: "London Wasps have concluded an initial investigation into an incident involving Andy Powell and Tim Payne earlier this week for which both players were suspended from the club.

"Based on the club's initial findings, Tim Payne's suspension has now been lifted.

"The investigation involving Andy Powell will continue and the player will remain under suspension until this has concluded.

"Until this investigation has been concluded the club will make no further comment. "
