New Zealand winger to bolster back division

Connacht have bolstered their back division for next season with the signing of winger Fetu'u Vainikolo from the Highlanders. The 26-year-old, who scored 13 tries in three seasons at the Highlanders, has also played for Northland and Otago in the ITM Cup. And Vainikolo is relishing the chance to play for Connacht. "I am excited about furthering my career with Connacht. I have watched their progress with interest this season and been impressed with their style of play," he told the Connacht website. "I am looking forward to hopefully scoring many tries in the green jersey." Connacht boss Eric Elwood believes Vainikolo can become a real asset at The Sportsground. "We're really looking forward to Fetu'u joining us, he has shown he can score tries from anywhere on the pitch and we are excited to have a player of his skill and expertise joining the team," he said. "Having a player of his pace and physicality in the backs will add an extra dimension to our game."
