Leeds second row to join the Sharks in the summer

Sale director of sport Steve Diamond has continued his rebuilding of the Sharks pack by signing lock Kearnan Myall from Leeds. England Saxons international Myall has agreed a two-year deal to make the switch to Edgeley Park in the summer. And the 24-year-old will join prop Tony Buckley and hooker Joe Ward in moving to Sale - with Diamond set to build his side around the forwards. "We are excited to be able to announce Kearnan's signing for Sale Sharks," said Diamond. "He is an established player with both Leeds Carnegie and England Saxons and will add a lot to the squad. He is excellent in the line-out, which has been a major plus to Leeds this season and has a great work ethic. "Kearnan is a versatile player who can fit into the back-row as well as at lock and he will fit in well with what we are building at Sale Sharks."

Myall, who came through the junior ranks at Huddersfield YMCA, had attracted the attention of Northampton and Leicester. But the 6ft 7in second row has opted to cross the Pennines, with Sale coach Pete Anglesea claiming more signings are in the pipeline. "There are going to be a number of signings in the near future that we will be announcing," Anglesea added. "We are looking at players from all over the world. We want the best players from around the world who will want to play for Sale Sharks. "And what we are not doing is selling the past - we are selling the future. We are not selling it as in 'This is what is going on now. We are pitching it as being all about where the club is going. "So in terms of speaking to potential new players it's all about the future...not the past."
