Scotland No.8 Kelly Brown insists his team-mates can be optimistic about their chances for the RBS Six Nations despite their defeat to France.

Scotland showed glimpses of magic at the Stade de France as they scored three tries before going down 34-21 to Les Bleus.

And Brown, who scored one of those tries alongside captain Alastair Kellock and Sean Lamont, believes there are plenty of positives to take out of the defeat.

Wales are next up for the Scots on Saturday at Murrayfield and Brown said: "There's a bit of frustration there; we played some very, very good stuff.

"Our attack at times was very good but we turned over too much ball and the French took full advantage.

"We take confidence from the things that went well and we look forward to Wales next week.

"We scored three tries in Paris and there's not many sides that come here and do that.

"We take confidence from that but we've got to look to tighten up on the things we need to tighten up on."
