Gloucester lock Jim Hamilton sustained a fractured metatarsal on international duty with Scotland.

Hamilton came off the bench for the final 20 minutes of his country's 19-16 victory over Samoa in Aberdeen.

However, he picked up the injury during his brief stint and is now wearing a compression boot. The 28-year-old will return to Kingsholm for further assessment.

Scarlets winger Sean Lamont, who made his 50th appearance, was forced off with bruising on his hip.

"Jim has been assessed, is now in a compression boot and will be reviewed by his club's medical team on his return, while winger Sean Lamont has severe bruising on his hip," said Scotland team doctor James Robson.

"A number of other players have also been treated for the general bumps and bruises associated with the rigours of Test match rugby."
