The former national captain appears to have resolved a long-running battle with the Pakistan Cricket Board following his inclusion in the limited-overs squad for the upcoming series with South Africa.

Younis' international career looked over after he was banned indefinitely by the PCB in March for his conduct during the ill-fated tour of Australia at the start of the year.

However the ban has since been lifted, and Younis is now focused on rebuilding his career.

"I am happy to be back and eager to play for my country," Younis told reporters. "I am available to play in all three forms of the game and it's up to the management to play me whenever they want."

Younis announced his retirement from Twenty20 cricket after leading Pakistan to the World Twenty20 title in England in 2009 and since then, his career has suffered badly.

He has not played international cricket since taking on Australia in a one-day international back in January, but he is confident one good innings will put him back in the groove.

"I have not played cricket for nine or 10 months, but it's just a matter of one good innings and then I will be back in the rhythm," said Younis.

Younis has played 63 Tests to-date, scoring 5260 runs. He has also played 202 ODIs and 22 Twenty20 internationals for Pakistan.

Pakistan will play two Twenty20, five one-day and two Tests against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates.
