Baxter: Has signed Grace
Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has added versatile Irish youngster Eoghan Grace to his squad for the coming season.
The 22-year-old has played in a number of positions during his career, including at full-back, centre and in the front-row before settling into the back row.
Grace, who was part of the Ireland Under-20s team that won the Grand Slam in 2007, will now make the move to the Aviva Premiership from Munster's academy and Shannon.
And Baxter believes Grace can go on to become a key player this season.
Baxter said: "Eoghan is a player who I have been following now for quite some time. I first started talking to his agent before Christmas when I was looking to add hungry players to our squad. He has played some big games for Shannon and probably feels unlucky not to have progressed further in the Munster set-up.
"Eoghan came over to join in with some of our pre season testing and showed up well; not many forwards beat Tom Johnson over 40m and 100m.
"He showed up well in the conditioned games we played and although he is not a household name, I think he may be a name for the future.
"We have real strength in the back-row where I am going to challenge our players to go out and attack games in the Premiership and Eoghan only adds to that strength."
