India opener Virender Sehwag will miss the remainder of the Asia Cup due to a hamstring injury.

Sehwag sustained the problem during his side's three-wicket victory over Pakistan on June 19.

He will be replaced by Dinesh Karthik, subject to the approval of the Asian Cricket Council.

Sehwag - who was playing his first series since recovering from a shoulder strain - had to be allotted a runner during his innings of 10 from 32 deliveries as India successfully chased down a target of 267 to secure qualification for the final of the four-team Dambulla tournament.

India face a dead-rubber tie against Sri Lanka on June 22, before taking on the same opposition two days later in the title clash.
