Shenton: Injury boost
Castleford have received a big boost with the news that Michael Shenton's knee injury is not as serious as first feared.
The England centre had to be carried off towards the end of the Tigers' 24-20 Engage Super League win over Catalans Dragons on Tuesday night.
There were fears he had suffered major ligament damage but it is now thought he could be back in action as early as next month.
Castleford coach Terry Matterson said: "He's going to go for precautionary scans but he saw the specialist yesterday and we're 99% sure it's not serious.
"He definitely won't play at Salford on Sunday and he probably won't play the week after but he could be back the week after that.
"We're really pleased because it didn't look good. Something popped out but it popped back in again. We're due a bit of good luck."
In a double boost, the Tigers will have utility back Ryan McGoldrick back from suspension for the trip to The Willows.
