South African agrees T20 deal, subject to work permit

South African seamer Charl Langeveldt will return to Derbyshire as one of their overseas players for the Friends Provident t20. Langeveldt, 35, previously represented the county on a Kolpak contract in 2008, taking 79 wickets in all competitions. His proposed move will be finalised once a work permit is acquired and Cricket South Africa sign off the paperwork. As and when those formalities are complete, he will be registered as the county's second overseas player alongside compatriot Loots Bosman. That will allow Australian Chris Rogers, Derbyshire's county captain, a period of rest with Greg Smith skippering the team in his absence.
