Van der Linde: Heading home
The Cheetahs have completed the signing of South Africa prop CJ van der Linde from Leinster.
The 29-year-old, who was part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad, began his career at the Bloemfontein.
However he has spent the past two seasons at Leinster, winning the Heineken Cup with the Irish province in 2009.
Van der Linde, though, has now decided to head back to South Africa as he looks to cement his place in the Springboks side ahead of the 2011 World Cup.
Van der Linde's agent Stephan Weyers told South African newspaper Volksblad: "CJ is delighted to have the opportunity of pulling on the Cheetahs jersey again and is looking forward to playing in the Currie Cup again with old team-mates and close friend Juan Smith.
"We are indebted to SA Rugby as they made CJ's move to South Africa financially viable by offering him a contract until after the World Cup."
The signing of the 58-Test veteran will be a big boost for Naka Drotske's side after they saw Wian du Preez opt to remain in Ireland with Munster.
