India will rest a number of top players for the tri-nations series in Zimbabwe.

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra and Gautam Gambhir have all been rested for the series which also involves Sri Lanka.

Left-handed batsman Suresh Raina will captain the new-look India squad in Dhoni's absence, with five players set to win their first caps.

Seam bowlers Pankaj Singh, Umesh Yadav and Vinay Kumar, wicketkeeper batsman Naman Ojha and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have been included for the first for the series.

The tri-series begins in Bulawayo on May 28 - with India also set to play two Twenty20 Internationals against Zimbabwe on June 12 and 13.
