Dhoni, fresh from skippering the Chennai Super Kings to IPL glory, is in charge of the national team at the April 30-May 16 event in the Caribbean.

India have a mixed record in previous World T20s, winning the inaugural tournament in South Africa in 2007 but going out prior to knockout stage in England last year.

"Dhoni is an ice cool person," Harbhajan told the Times of India. "He never shows his emotions on the ground, never gets upset with the players.

Fine mix

"To me, he is the best captain in the world. He is a fine mix of brain and brawn and he always backs his instincts.

"He is a great guy to have as captain. Indian cricket is safe and healthy under his leadership."

Harbhajan also believes the IPL experience in India's World T20 squad - all 15 players have played in the franchise-based league - will stand them in good stead.

"Most Indian players have been playing in the IPL and that experience will come in handy," he said.

"Some top players like Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, MS Dhoni, Zaheer Khan and myself have even played the final.

"Then there are others like Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Piyush Chawla, Ashish Nehra, all of whom have done well for their respective teams.

"So the confidence is there. We just need to carry the momentum into the World Cup.

"The conditions in the West Indies would be more or less similar to what it is in India.

"The wickets will be on the slower side. We have a great team and if we play well, we can win the World Cup."

India are drawn in Group C alongside Afghanistan and South Africa.
