Harinordoquy: Back problem
In-form France No.8 Imanol Harinordoquy is a doubt for the RBS Six Nations clash with Italy on Sunday.
Harinordoquy was forced to miss Biarritz's 22-21 defeat to Toulon on Saturday after displacing a vertebra in his lower back while training.
The 30-year-old had treatment on the problem ahead of travelling to Paris with the France squad.
However he missed training on Monday and is unlikely to train tomorrow as he undergoes further treatment.
Harinordoquy's setback is the latest injury blow for Les Bleus, who have already seen Fred Michalak ruled out the tournament with a knee ligament injury.
Centre Mathieu Bastareaud is also a doubt to face the Azzurri after injuring his calf in the gym on Sunday.
However François Trinh-Duc, the only specialist fly-half in the squad, is expected to be passed fit despite picking up a knock in Montpellier's 22-19 win over Racing Metro.
