Selectors shuffle pack after heavy defeat in first Test

India have increased their batting options for the second Test against South Africa by including Dinesh Karthik and Suresh Raina in a 15-man squad. Seam bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is also recalled after missing India's innings defeat in the series opener in Nagpur due to a thigh strain. Wriddhiman Saha, the reserve wicketkeeper, made his debut as a specialist batsman in the first Test after VVS Laxman and Rohit Sharma were both late withdrawals. Laxman is retained in the hope he can overcome a finger problem but Saha and Sharma, along with back-up seamers Sudeep Tyagi and Abhimanyu Mithun, have been left out of the squad for a match India must win to claim a share of the two-match series and retain top spot in the International Cricket Council Test rankings. Karthik made the most recent of his 23 Test appearances against Bangladesh in January, while Raina is uncapped in the five-day format but has plenty of limited-overs experience. The second Test starts at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on February 14. India squad: MS Dhoni (capt, wkt), S Badrinath, G Gambhir, D Karthik, Z Khan, VVS Laxman, A Mishra, P Ojha, S Raina, V Sehwag, S Tendulkar, I Sharma, H Singh, S Sreesanth, M Vijay
