Elissalde: Poised for a recall
Toulouse scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Elissalde is set for a recall to the France squad for the RBS Six Nations.
With Julien Dupuy handed a lengthy suspension for gouging and Dimitri Yachvili injured, coach Marc Lièvremont is short of options for the No.9 shirt.
Morgan Parra is the favourite to start against Scotland on February 7 at scrum-half, with the veteran Elissalde, who was last capped in November 2008, and his Toulouse team-mate Frédéric Michalak now in the running for places in the squad.
"Fred is one of those whom we look at every time. Especially at scrum-half," Lièvremont told L'Equipe.
"Without counting the fact that we orientating ourselves towards place-kicking scrum-halves, and Dimitri Yachvili is also injured, I think it'll more likely be 'Jean-Ba'."
Lièvremont has also hinted that he may change the dynamics of the squad to include an extra back - especially following the injury to prop Fabien Barcella.
"Five props and three hookers remains the best formula," he said.
"But with the injury to Fabien Barcella, there's is a chance that we go for four props and three hookers."
