Williams and Jones commit to Cardiff

Cardiff Blues have been buoyed by news that forward duo Gareth Williams and Deiniol Jones have both agreed new deals at the club. Hooker Williams has signed a new three-year contract, while second row Jones will remain with the Blues until 2012. Blues director of rugby Dai Young said: "It's a real boost to the squad that both Gareth and Deiniol have signed new contracts with the region. "It shows that the region is certainly heading in the right direction." The 30-year-old Williams has won seven Wales caps since making his Cardiff debut in 2003 - and although he had offers to move, he had no hesitation in agreeing a new deal. "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with the region," he said. "Although I had offers from clubs in France, there was nowhere else I wanted to go. "I've been at the Blues for seven years and this new contract will take me up to 10 which is great. I love playing for the Blues and it really feels like home for me now."
