Worcester Warriors have signed back-row forward Chris Cracknell until the send of the current season.

Worcester Warriors have signed back-row forward Chris Cracknell until the end of the current season. The highly-rated 25-year-old has previously played at Bath, Exeter Chiefs, Cornish Pirates, Newbury and Harlequins. The England Sevens star has joined up with his new team-mates at Sixways Stadium, including Jack Abbott with whom he played alongside with in the IRB Dubai Sevens. Cracknell scored two tries in England's narrow defeat in Dubai earning him rave reviews with his performance. Director of rugby Mick Ruddock is delighted too have captured the signature of the former England U21 player. He said: "Chris has signed a contract that will allow him to be part of our squad and feature for us until the end of this season. "He is a very well respected English-qualified back row forward of immense potential. "He has learnt his trade playing for teams like Exeter Chiefs and Cornish Pirates and, more recently, he was at Bath until Luke Watson arrived." The talented forward comes in to cover Netani Talei who has been ruled out until the end part of the season after shoulder reconstruction. Ruddock insisted it was paramount to replace Talei, with Cracknell a welcome edition. He said: "It was important that we reinforced this area and I'm particularly pleased to have signed a player of the quality of Chris Cracknell. "Chris has also featured heavily for England Sevens and is quite obviously a very talented prospect. We look forward to seeing him the Warriors colours before too long."
