Kyle Mills has been fined 20 percent of his match fee after being found guilty of two breaches of the ICC code of conduct during New Zealand's series-clinching seven-run win over Pakistan in the third one-day international on Monday.

"His actions went far beyond what is acceptable behaviour on the cricket field."
Andy Pycroft Quotes of the week

The Auckland seamer was hit with charges of showing dissent at an umpire's decision, use of language or gestures that are "obscene, offensive or insulting" and excessive appealing.

He pleaded guilty to using obscene language and was also found guilty of excessive appealing but the disciplinary panel, convened by match referee Andy Pycroft, found him not guilty with regard to the dissent charge.

The incident took place in the 49th over when Mills celebrated a supposed caught-behind decision against Mohammad Aamer without waiting for the official's decision.

He was then caught on camera using colourful language when a not out call followed.

Excitement

"I fully accept it was a crucial moment in the match and the player was caught up in that excitement," said Pycroft in explaining his decision.

"However, his actions went far beyond what is acceptable behaviour on the cricket field.

"He was heard to use an offensive expletive and clearly he was guilty of excessive appealing by celebrating a dismissal before the umpire had given his decision.

"I am content to dismiss the charge of dissent because I feel it is tied up with the other two offences and so it would be unfair to charge him with that as well."
