Northampton ace to work on partnership with Wilkinson

England centre Shane Geraghty has admitted that his partnership with Jonny Wilkinson remains a work in progress. Geraghty has been in superb form for Northampton this season at fly-half, however the move to the No.12 jersey to play alongside World Cup winner Wilkinson for England saw the 23-year-old struggle. The much-vaunted combination failed to ignite England's backline at Twickenham as Australia outscored them two tries to none in the 18-9 victory. And although Geraghty admits he learned a lot from playing alongside Wilkinson, he knows that the duo will have to improve against Argentina. "It definitely helps my game develop to see what Jonny does in different scenarios," Geraghty told Northampton Chronicle and Echo.. "We have both got to keep working hard and bossing the forwards. "We did split the field a little bit, I did take on a little bit of the responsibility there and split the kicking a bit. "It was brilliant to play with him, it was just a disappointing second half performance. "Sometimes we maybe didn't take the right options, but when we really got into what we did in training, and did the phase interchanging, there was a point in the second half when we really had them on the ropes, but we then had an unfortunate knock-on."
