Kabir: Set to leave New Road
Worcestershire have acceded to Kabir Ali's request to speak to other counties after he rejected the offer of a new contract.
Kabir, who has a year left on his current deal, has been with the Royals for more than 10 years, taking in excess of 400 first-class wickets during that period.
But after an injury-dogged campaign this year, the 28-year-old has made it clear he wants to explore other options.
And Worcestershire have now consented, with a club spokesman saying: "Worcestershire can confirm they have allowed Kabir Ali to talk to other counties for the period up to September 30.
"This follows a request from the player who still has one year to run on his existing contract.
"The club has also offered the player a new three-year contract which has been rejected at this time."
England Lions wicketkeeper Steve Davies and spinner Gareth Batty have already confirmed they will leave New Road at the end of the season and if Kabir follows suit it would be a big blow to the club.
Local rivals Warwickshire are thought to be leading the race to sign the right-arm medium fast bowler at this stage.
