The tourists, who trail 1-0 in the series, closed day four at the Queen's Park Oval on 80-3, an overall lead of 82.

Kevin Pietersen (34no) and Paul Collingwood (1no) will resume together on the final morning looking to add quick runs to set up a declaration.

"We'll try to put the West Indies under pressure, and see what pressure can do," Swann told Sky Sports.

"It isn't ideal that we lost three wickets tonight, but we have to try to take something out of this game.

"We have to go out believing we can get a positive result out of the game."

Shivnarine Chanderpaul promised West Indies will "bat positively" in pursuit of victory if England give them an achievable run chase.

Chanderpaul, who made an unbeaten 147 and shared a fifth-wicket stand of 234 with fellow left-hander Brendan Nash (109) as the hosts replied to England's first-innings 546-6 declared with 544 all out, is not ruling out a late twist in the tale of a series which has produced mainly attritional cricket.

"If the total is gettable we will bat positively and try to get them," the Guyanese batsman said. "If it is not we will probably play safe.

"England came out to push on and make a game of it (tonight). We have to go out there, bowl well and hope tomorrow to get the opportunity to bat well again."
