Scotland captain Mike Blair is confident his side can prevent Ireland winning their first Grand Slam title in 61 years.
Ireland have so far beaten France, Italy and England to top the RBS Six Nations table.
And although Scotland have managed just a scratchy win over the Italians from their three matches, Blair believes he has seen enough to give his side hope.
"I've been quite impressed with what Ireland have done so far, but if we can keep improving then there are areas there that we will look to expose," said Blair.
Having lost to Wales and France in their opening two matches of the tournament, Scotland finally found the winning formula against the Azzurri.
And Blair insists that 26-6 victory has given them the perfect platform to build on when Ireland head to Murrayfield on March 14.
"There was a funny feeling after the Italian game, obviously we were delighted with the win, but it was a bit of a stodgy game. We are aware there is still a lot to improve on," said Blair.
"So there is an element of confidence going into the Irish game but there is still a lot of respect for what the Irish have done and we know we need to step things up and put pressure on them."
