Yorkshire's Adil Rashid has been added to the England performance squad travelling with the senior squad to Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

The 20-year-old all-rounder joins the nine-man party that will act as back-up for the two Test matches anticipated against India.

Rashid played for the England Lions last summer and the leg-spinner enjoyed his most prolific first-class season in 2008 with 62 County Championship wickets.

England are travelling to the United Arab Emirates for a training camp with a view to resuming their tour of India next week.

The senior squad flew home last weekend due to security concerns following the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
