Flintoff: Back in the wickets
Twenty20 Cup - North Division
Lancashire 155-8 Innings Complete (L Vincent 56) v Nottinghamshire 132
Lancashire beat Nottinghamshire by 23 runs
Lancashire booked their place in the Twenty20 quarter-final stage after Lou Vincent smashed 56 to help the hosts to a 23-run win over Nottinghamshire at Old Trafford.
Andrew Flintoff returned to bowling after seven weeks out with a left side strain, and he took the crucial wicket of Adam Voges to help his team-mates to an impressive win which now ends the Outlaws' hopes of reaching the last eight.
After batting first, Vincent continued his fine form after blazing an unbeaten 102 in Monday's win over Derbyshire with 56 off 36 balls which included nine fours and a six.
Mal Loye was earlier bowled by Darren Pattinson for 17 having a heave and Stuart Law was caught by Voges off the same bowler for just five.
But Francois Du Plessis hit 19 off 21 balls to keep the momentum going but when he went, the Red Rose stuttered to a par score of 155-8.
Nottinghamshire's run chase failed to gather any momentum after Australian Voges was caught behind off Flintoff's fifth ball for just 10.
Fellow opener Will Jefferson stroked a run-a-ball 35, however wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals as the visitors stumbled 23 runs short of their target.
