Yuvraj: Overlooked again
India have decided to leave Yuvraj Singh out of their side for the opening Test of the series against Pakistan, which is live on Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old left-hander was in outstanding form in the recent one-day series between the two sides, scoring 272 runs in the five matches.
However his performances in the limited overs arena have not been enough to win him a place in the Test line-up.
Instead the hosts will stick with the experienced Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman in the middle order for the game in Delhi.
"It's unfortunate, but at least for this game for sure he will have to wait," new India skipper Anil Kumble said.
"He is really important for Indian cricket moving forward and I'm sure the entire batting will revolve around him very soon."
While Yuvraj is made to wait Harbhajan Singh has been handed a recall to re-form his spin partnership with skipper Kumble.
The off-spinner will make his first Test appearance in over a year in what will be a keenly-contested series between the two countries.
"We need to look at it as a new series," Kumble said ahead of the start of the first Test on Thursday.
"We respect Pakistan as an opposition. We won the one-dayers, but it depends on how each team take their own defeat or victory.
"We have the potential to go out there and win the series and we will do everything that is in our hands to do that."
