Harbhajan: back in favour
Harbhajan Singh has been recalled by India for the first two Tests against Pakistan.
The off-spinner made the last of his 57 Test appearances 16 months ago, but has been given another chance following some strong performances during India's victory at the World Twenty20 in September and the recent one-dayers against Pakistan.
Harbhajan is one of three specialist spinners named in the 14-man squad, with new captain Anil Kumble and left-armer Murali Kartik also included.
Kumble, a veteran of 118 appearances, will be leading India for the first time in a Test after succeeding Rahul Dravid as skipper.
Wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni - who is captain in limited-overs cricket - has been named as Kumble's deputy.
The 14-man squad covers the opening two Tests in Delhi (Nov 22-26) and Kolkata (Nov 30-Dec 4). The squad will be reviewed prior to the final Test in Bangalore (Dec 8-12).
Squad: Anil Kumble (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Vangipurappu Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicketkeeper), Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Rudra Pratap Singh, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Murali Kartik
