Former England internationals Kabir Ali and Gareth Batty have agreed new three-year deals with Worcestershire that will keep them at New Road through the 2010 season.
Seamer Kabir has been with the club since joining as a 15-year-old while off-spinning all-rounder Batty moved from Surrey in 2002.
Chief Executive, Mark Newton, said: "As with any team, you want to strike a balance between youth and experience.
"Having international experience, both Kabir and Gareth are senior players and form part of the backbone of our squad.
Mentor younger players
"Both had very good seasons in 2007 and we are delighted they have committed to Worcestershire in this way, as they will not only help us achieve more playing success but also help mentor the younger players in our squad.
"The Club now has a squad of 18 fully contracted players for 2008 with an overseas player still to be signed. We are proud of the fact that 17 of these players are eligible to play for England.
"The 18th player, 17-year-old Alexei Kervezee, is playing regularly for Holland. We have openly stated we would prefer not to go down the Kolpak route although we would never rule it out completely."
