Shay Given: Last played for Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012
Shay Given has been named in the latest Republic of Ireland squad two years after quitting international football.
Aston Villa's 38-year-old goalkeeper is a surprise inclusion in Martin O'Neill's trimmed-down 27-man group for Wednesay's home friendly against Oman and Ireland's opening European Qualifier in Georgia the following Sunday.
Given, who retired after the Euro 2012 finals, was not in an initial 36-man squad named last week but now looks likely to add to his 125 caps.
If he features against Oman, Ireland's second-most capped player could make up ground on Robbie Keane, whose 139th appearance is in doubt because of injury.
Keane is in the squad and expected to be fit for the Group D game in Tbilisi, but the LA Galaxy striker will be monitored in the run-up to the Dublin friendly.
Three players - Reading defender Stephen Kelly, Derby midfielder Jeff Hendrick and Nottingham Forest midfielder Andy Reid - have withdrawn injured.
And O'Neill has placed a further six - Darren Randolph, Ciaran Clark, Paul McShane, Shane Duffy, Damien Delaney, Simon Cox and Conor Sammon - on standby.
Revised squad: Forde, Westwood, Given, Elliot, Keogh, Wilson, Coleman, O'Shea, Pearce, O'Brien, McCarthy, Ward, Whelan, Gibson, McGeady, Pilkington, McClean, Brady, Quinn, Meyler, Hoolahan, Keane, Long, Murphy, Walters, Doyle, Stokes,
