Roberto Mancini is looking forward to his return to England when he takes on Chelsea with his Galatasaray side at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Mancini is back in England for the first time since he was fired by Manchester City in May 2013, a year after guiding the club to their first Premier League title and first championship in 44 years.

He took over at Galatasaray four months later and has guided them to the last-16 of the Champions League in his first season, a feat he failed to achieve with City where his side often struggled in European play.

Mancini is proud of the job he did at the Etihad Stadium and he hopes his new side will taste success at Stamford Bridge, where a win will be enough to see them into the quarter-finals after a 1-1 draw in Istanbul.

"I did a really good job with Manchester City," Mancini said.

"I'm very happy to play this game, first of all because it's here in London and after because it's Champions League.

"We did a miracle in the group because it was really difficult to go through in that group.

"Chelsea have a small advantage. I don't know if it will be enough to score one goal. Tomorrow we will see what happens.

"We gave them a lot of respect in the first 20 minutes (in Istanbul). It is important tomorrow to start at the right level.

"Chelsea are a very good team, one of the best in Europe, but in football never say never so we will try."
