PSV Eindhoven missed the chance to move three points clear at the top of the Eredivisie as they lost 1-0 at Heerenveen.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men on Sunday after only 33 minutes when Stefano Marzo was sent off, but they stood firm and the numbers were evened up in the 67th minute when Joshua Brenet saw red.

And Heerenveen won it 12 minutes from time, with Daley Sinkgraven grabbing the winner.

PSV still top the table, despite a second league defeat of the season, but only on goal difference from Ajax and PEC Zwolle.

Heerenveen's win moved them one point off the pace.

FC Twente are a point further back after a 3-1 win at home to FC Utrecht.

Kyle Ebecilio put them ahead after five minutes and Christian Kum's own goal after 64 made it two.

Yassine Ayoub pulled one back in the 71st minute, but was then sent off a minute from time and Luc Castaignos added a third for Twente at the death.

Michael De Leeuw's penalty earned Groningen a 1-0 home win over Willem II, while Excelsior and Cambuur Leeuwarden drew 1-1.

Tom van Weert put Excelsior ahead midway through the first half, with Bartholomew Ogbeche equalising just after the hour mark.
