Celtic and St Johnstone have been fined by UEFA after their fans displayed Palestinian flags during recent European games.
UEFA confirmed St Johnstone had received a £14,300 penalty that also includes a sanction for "insufficient organisation", while Celtic were fined £15,900 for their fans displaying what they described as an "illicit banner."
The banners were displayed during St Johnstone’s Europa League qualifier against Spartak Trnava at McDiarmid Park and Celtic's Champions League qualifier with KR Reykjavik at Parkhead.
UEFA cited article 16.2.e of their regulations which allow it to punish "the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any message that is not fit for a sports event, particularly messages that are of a political, ideological, religious, offensive or provocative nature."
Celtic were fined around £42,000 by UEFA last season over a similar political banner.
