Brighton boss Sami Hyypia has urged the club's fans to stay behind his new-look team.

The Seagulls were booed by a small section of the home support after they laboured to a goalless draw against struggling Blackpool on Saturday, and Hyypia conceded they need to improve after four games without a win.

"My message to the fans is keep supporting us and we will make sure that we will give everything on the field," he said.

"The fans pay for their tickets and they want their entertainment. If it's 0-0, sometimes it can be a very exciting game, but it wasn't as exciting as it could have been.

"I'm very happy with the squad, but I'm not happy with how we played and I am willing to work on things.

"Everyone has to understand their role on the pitch and want to have two players in every position who know their role. That way I can field either of those players and the level will be the same."
