The Premier League has confirmed that referees chief Mike Riley will speak to Garry Monk about the Swansea manager’s concerns over officiating standards.

Monk believes his side have been the victim of some poor decisions this season and says he has sent the League a letter and DVD outlining his complaints.

A Premier League spokesman confirmed: “The correspondence from Swansea was received by PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) on Monday morning and Mike (Riley) will no doubt be speaking to Gary this week.”

The Swansea boss was again unhappy on Sunday after Stoke were awarded a contentious penalty in their 2-1 defeat of the Welsh side, and FA disciplinary officials are believed to be studying his comments about referee Michael Oliver.

Monk: Penalty a disgrace

And Monk also said: "I have sent a DVD off with a letter, expressing my disappointment, and I've had no contact from Mike Riley.

"I think it is about being pro-active and he is clearly not doing that. He is clearly not listening to anything I am saying.

“His job is to ring me, it's not mine to ring him. He is supposed to be the head of these guys and overseeing it all, and seeing what managers feel.

"But I've had no contact whatsoever and, for me, that is very poor."
