Ross Turnbull: Has signed for Barnsley
League One new-boys Barnsley have signed goalkeeper Ross Turnbull on a two-year deal.
The 29-year-old, who played 28 times for Doncaster last season, is the third signing at Oakwell in the last 24 hours following the arrivals of Sam Winnall and James Bailey.
Turnbull began his career with Middlesbrough in 2002 but made just 27 appearances for the club over the next seven years as he was loaned out to five teams - including two spells at Barnsley.
In 2009 he joined Chelsea as a back-up to Peter Cech. His first-team starts were again restricted to a mere handful although he managed to pick up two FA Cup, a Europa League and a Champions League winners medal.
Speaking to Barnsley's official website, he said: "As soon I knew Barnsley were interested, I wanted to sign.
"I know Mark Crossley (goalkeeping coach) from my time at Middlesbrough as well. He was very complimentary of the club and now I'm looking forward to the new season."
