Curtis Davies has been linked with a summer exit at Hull City, but Steve Bruce insists his skipper is not for sale.

Crystal Palace are said to have turned their attention to the commanding centre-half after failing to reach an agreement for Tottenham Hotspur’s Michael Dawson.

An £8million deal has been mooted, with Palace aware that they will have to pay a premium for a man who caught the eye in Hull’s Premier League and FA Cup campaigns last season.

The likes of Everton, Sunderland and Newcastle United are also said to be closely monitoring Davies’ situation as they search for proven defensive reinforcements.

Hull are, however, adamant that the 29-year-old, who has two years remaining on his current contract, is going nowhere.

Bruce is readying his troops for a hectic 2014/15 campaign that will bring domestic and European competition and is looking to add to his ranks, not deplete them.

He said in The Sun: “Curtis won’t be going anywhere. He’s under contract here.

“No matter what happens, he’ll be with us when the season gets underway, that’s for sure.”
