Roarie Deacon twice held his nerve from the penalty spot to help Stevenage defeat Coventry 2-1 at the Lamex Stadium.
Following a fairly quiet first half which saw Marcus Tudgay go close and Charlie Lee force a parrying save from Lee Burge, the game sprang to life shortly after the break. Reda Johnson brought down a Boro trialist inside the box after 56 minutes and substitute Deacon scored from the resulting spot-kick. Six minutes later Deacon doubled the advantage - again from the penalty spot - after Jordan Clarke was penalised for a foul on Adam Marriott. Tudgay pulled a goal back with a calm finish midway through the second half but Coventry could not find an equaliser.
