Kenwyne Jones: Loses Stoke appeal
Cardiff striker Kenwyne Jones has had an appeal against a fine imposed on him by former club Stoke City rejected.
Jones was fined two weeks' wages after he sent a text to manager Mark Hughes the night before a home game with Liverpool on January 12 to say he was unavailable for selection.
The Trinidad and Tobago international joined Cardiff later that month in a swap deal that saw Peter Odemwingie head the other way.
It is understood Jones went back to Stoke last week to argue the level of his fine was unjust, but Potters chairman Peter Coates has since concluded that not to be the case.
The 29-year-old now has the option to either pay the fine or take his case to the Premier League.
