Wolves boss Kenny Jackett believes his side is ready for Sunday's mouth-watering Sky Bet Championship opener against Norwich at Molineux.

Wanderers were impressive winners of League One last season but face a baptism of fire at the next level up when entertaining the Canaries, who were competing in the Premier League earlier this year.

However, Saturday's 1-1 draw with La Liga outfit Celta Vigo stretched Wolves' unbeaten run in pre-season friendlies to seven games and Jackett is confident they can transfer that form into league action.

"We are ready now - we are ready to go and looking forward to the season," Jackett told the club's official website.

"Norwich will be a big test for us because they have been very impressive and very free-flowing in pre-season. Looking at their teamsheet, it's a very good one.

"But it's the sort of test we wanted - that is why we are here and why we wanted to get into this league. It's a fantastic challenge and one we have to look forward to."

Jacket has been content to stay faithful to the squad which gained promotion but has not ruled out making some late additions after already bringing in Peterborough midfielder Tommy Rowe this summer.

"We're always looking to try and bring people in but I wouldn't say we are desperate to get anyone in before the kick off," reported Jackett. "For myself, I have concentrated on the group that we have and our scouting department have been working away.

"If somebody does come in, it will be planned - it won't be a kneejerk reaction but something we have been looking at for a long time. But I'm not someone to say we are desperate for players before the start of the season because I have a lot of confidence in the players that we have."
