Adam Forshaw continues to face an uncertain future at Brentford, with Mark Warburton unable to predict what will happen.

The highly-rated 22-year-old former Everton midfielder has been the subject of two failed bids from Wigan Athletic during the summer transfer window.

With his head turned, Forshaw has been training alone as he continues to undergo treatment on a hamstring injury.

"We have a valuation on an asset. If someone wants to meet that valuation, all well and good and business can be done."

It remains to be seen whether Wigan will return with a third approach, with Warburton aware that the matter could drag on for some weeks yet.

He said: “The deadline is in place in terms of the close of the transfer window.

“There’s a week of no activity and then the loan market opens up again. There’s many possibilities.

“I saw Adam at the training ground on Monday getting some treatment. He had surgery over the summer and was getting back to fitness, but he had a slight hamstring tweak which he reported after running. That’s being treated.”

Warburton concedes that Forshaw could be sold before deadline day on September 1, but says talks will only be held in an interested party meets Brentford’s asking price.

He added: “We have a valuation on an asset. If someone wants to meet that valuation, all well and good and business can be done.

“It’s an ego massage when you’re wanted by someone else and I fully understand that.

“The club have been clear any player is for sale, but it will be on our terms.”
