Bolton Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman says Adam Bogdan and Mark Davies are 'going nowhere' despite reports to the contrary.

Both men have been linked with summer moves away from the Reebok Stadium.

Goalkeeper Bogdan has entered the final year of his contract, which has helped to fuel the transfer gossip, but Davies is tied to Bolton until 2017.

Freedman has expressed a desire to discuss a new deal with Bogdan when the time is right and insists none of those considered to be key to his plans heading forward will be allowed to leave during the current window.

"Adam is going nowhere, Mark Davies is going nowhere, unless they say they want to go or there is a bid the board feel they have to accept."

He told The Bolton News: “Adam is going nowhere, Mark Davies is going nowhere, unless they say they want to go or there is a bid the board feel they have to accept. As we speak, that hasn’t happened.

“They will be back for the fans to see very soon.”

Freedman says too much has been read into the duo’s lack of pre-season action, with Bogdan yet to figure and Davies given just 45 minutes in a meeting with Brondby and 50 against Mjallby.

The Scot added: “Mark had his toe stamped on and he was having injections to get through matches. We felt in the end that it wasn’t fair to keep doing that to him.

“He’s going to have a rest this week and then he should be ready to start properly.

“Adam is in full-time training as of now. We’re probably looking at the Port Vale game (on Wednesday) for him to come into the team. We’ve just been very aware of his back injury.

“He has been doing a lot of physical stuff – just hasn’t had the game time – but we expect that to change soon.”
