Jose Mourinho is the odds-on to be the next Chelsea boss after Rafael Benitez confirmed his exit plans.

Jose Mourinho is Sky Bet's 4/5 favourite to be the next Chelsea manager after Rafael Benitez confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season. The former Liverpool boss hit out at both his 'interim' job title and the fans after their 2-0 FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough, confirming he would not continue beyond the summer. With a long-term stay never looking likely, Sky Bet were already running a market on the next Blues boss, with Real Madrid manager Mourinho considered the frontrunner to replace the Spaniard. Mourinho's time at the Bernabeu is largely expected to come to an end this summer, having reportedly fallen out with his own players, while maintaining a virtually non-existent relationship with the Spanish media. The Portuguese boss holds legendary status at Stamford Bridge having led them to a first Premier League title, while he also boasts three other domestic titles and two Champions League winners' medals. Everton manager David Moyes is considered the 4/1 second favourite with his current contract expiring at the end of the season, while Michael Laudrup, whose stock has risen considerably after leading Swansea to Capital One Cup glory, is 5/1 for the post. Former Blues favourite Gus Poyet (7/1) is also considered in the running along with club captain John Terry (16/1) and Dortmund's highly-rated boss Jurgen Klopp (25/1). While Benitez intends to see out his interim deal, Sky Bet punters expect his departure to come before then, backing him into odds-on to be gone before the end of the season. Sky Bet's Chris Spicer said: "Our punters are backing Benitez to be gone before the end of the season so, if Mourinho is Roman Abramovich's man, another interim manager could well be on the cards. "That could lead to somebody like Avram Grant (16/1) getting the post again, while the Blues' place in next season's Champions League far from assured."
