Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that he has no regrets over the failure to sign Radamel Falcao in the summer transfer window.

The Italian champions were linked with a move for the Colombia international for much of the summer, but the 28-year-old striker moved to Manchester United on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco on transfer deadline day.

Allegri, though, is not disappointing that Falcao will not play for Juve this season and insists that he is happy with the players he signed.

“Am I disappointed at not getting Falcao? No,” the Italian told reporters. “We worked well, with targeted operations, without buying just for the sake of buying.

“If we had found the player truly capable of helping the team make a step up in quality, then okay, otherwise there’s no point when we already have such a strong squad.”
