Sky Bet

Hi, thanks for logging on to skysports.com and checking out my first column.

I have been looking forward to this since we agreed the link-up in the summer, but obviously I didn't dream I would be writing this in October, with us sitting top of the league.

We have had an unbelievable start, little set-backs - but it does wonders for how we have done.

Good start

At the start of the campaign, because we have had so many new players, you did wonder how long it might take us to gel. But we went to Ibiza in the summer in pre-season and that helped the lads bond together and pull in the right direction.

The start probably has surprised a few of us, but at the same time we want to win every game - and the confidence at the moment is very high.

Many people have seen our chairman come and in think we are one of those teams with an owner who will merely try and buy success.

But in all fairness to Barry Hearn and everyone at the club - we have a real culture of bringing through young players - look at me for instance.

But there is a lot of young lads, look at Aiden Palmer - who has played every single game and has had big shoes to fill with Matt Lockwood leaviubg, but he has done very well indeed all season.

Defeat

The last couple of weeks has seen us suffer a couple of defeats - but spirit is still very good - after all we are still top of the table!

At Gillingham on Tuesday, they were fighting for their lives, they were direct and to be honest we played some good stuff and created a lot of chances - but it just wasn't meant to be on the night, and that is football!

We are all now looking forward to Swansea at the weekend, as I said we are positive and are looking for to every game at the moment - obviously Swansea are one of the bigger teams in our division, but we go into every game wanting to win and I genuinely feel now that we are genuinely confident of winning each game.
