Francesco Totti looks set to miss Roma's UEFA Champions League meeting with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Roma's talismanic captain missed the first leg of the quarter-final at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday as the Red Devils triumphed 2-0 with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

And the thigh injury which has kept the Italy international on the sidelines is now expected to rule him out of the return meeting in Manchester.

Coach Luciano Spaletti, speaking after his side defeated Genoa 3-2 in Serie A on Saturday, said: "I don't think he will make it.

"Of course I would like to have a player like Totti available."
