Manchester City coach David Platt remains unconcerned by reports surrounding the future of defender Joleon Lescott after he was left out of the squad which travelled to Chelsea at the weekend.

Serbian teenage star Matija Nastasic has become manager Roberto Mancini's first choice centre half alongside captain Vincent Kompany in recent months and Kole Toure has been preferred to the 30-year-old as back-up.

The England international has not made a first team start for City since the 3-1 Champions League defeat in Ajax in October, although he has been out injured due to a back problem.

However, Platt admitted he was available for the clash at Stamford Bridge and will be available for selection again at Wigan on Wednesday evening.

He said: "Jolean is fine. He will be available for selection like he was available for selection at the weekend.

"He has been available for selection for a few games, but we can only put 11 on the pitch."
