England stars Josh Charnley, Sean O'Loughlin and Michael McIlorum have signed new long-term contracts with Wigan Warriors.

Centre Charnley, who scored 36 tries in all competitions this season, has agreed improved terms for the next two seasons while also extending his contract through to 2016.

Charnley said: "The last couple of years have been a bit of a whirlwind for me but I have loved every minute of it.

"I owe much to the players around me and without them I wouldn't have been in the position to score as many tries as I have.

"We have a great team and it is an honour to play for this great club. We have a squad that I am certain will be continuing to challenge for the top honours in the game over the next few seasons."

Skipper and second row O'Loughlin, 29, has signed a new two-year deal, with the option of a further year which includes a move into the club's backroom staff.

He said: "I am thrilled to have signed a new deal with the club and am looking forward to the next couple of years as a player before having the wonderful opportunity to join the backroom staff."

Hooker McIlorum has agreed to stay at the DW Stadium until the end of the 2015 season, with the option of a further year.

"I am delighted to have committed my long-term future to Wigan and am looking forward to more on-field success over the next few years," he said.

"I have a great working relationship with (head coach) Shaun Wane who has played a huge part in my development as a player throughout my career so far and I would like to thank him and the rest of the Warriors coaching staff.

"I am really enjoying my rugby and I am keen to continue to work hard and improve."

Wane added: "To say I am pleased to have secured the services of these three players would be a massive understatement.

"Josh, Lockers and Mickey are part of the back bone of this great club. Their attitude to training and improving as players is exceptional and they are perfect examples to any youngster wanting to get to the highest level of rugby league.

"Like me, these players have a great desire to make Wigan the greatest club in the world again."
